Cada vez es más común ver personas trans y drags en una pasarela; recientemente vimos a Violet Chachki en el desfile de Moschino. Ahora llegó el turno de Desmond Napoles, un activista LGBTQIA de 10 años y autodenominado “drag kid”. Originario de Nueva York, practica lo que el denomina “kinder drag”, una especie de drag para niños.
Desde muy pequeño se dio cuenta que se inclinaba por los vestidos, transformándose a los seis años en Elsa para Halloween. Desde entonces, ha explorado esta faceta y saltó a la fama dentro de la comunidad LGTBQ en 2015 después de asistir a Pride en la ciudad de Nueva York. Además, actuó en el video musical de Jinks Monsoon, ganador de RuPaul´s Drag Race temporada cuatro.

Con todos estos hitos no es de extrañar que hiciera su debut en las pasarelas de Nueva York. La firma Gypsy Sport le permitió al niño desfilar con un abrigo negro de gran tamaño, las mejillas rosadas y el cabello peinado. Los asistentes lo recibieron con aplausos, sonrisas, gritos y chasquidos, Desmond dominó la pasarela con su energía y entusiasmo.
